From Body to Imagination
Gaia Gonnelli (Itàlia/Netherlands)
With an exploratory approach to movement, and not through learning a specific technique or dance style, Gaia Gonnelli will guide participants to explore new expressive, creative and communicative possibilities. By incorporating materials into movement, the workshop aims to deepen participants’ artistic practice, with a strong emphasis on the body’s sensory connection to its surroundings. Gaia Gonnelli believes that by offering adults experiences in using their own bodies, they will, in turn, be able to offer or share similar experiences with children.
Facilitators
Gaia Gonnelli, the artistic director and choreographer of Dadodans, is known for creating interdisciplinary performances that engage the youngest audiences (ages 0-8). Her work emerges through the interaction of bodies, space, and diverse materials—such as paper, paint, sounds, and stage elements—rather than following a predefined narrative. This process leads to associative, open-ended works that stimulate the imagination of young audiences, inviting them into a sensory experience.
