Schattenwerfer (The shadow of things)
Tangram Kollektiv

SYNOPSIS
Let’s go to the world of shadows!
A journey through an enchanted city of shadows leads us into a very special room. Three white screens define the space and also serve as projection surfaces. In the room, there’s a table, a small piano, some objects, and two flashlights. Suddenly, the light changes and the two puppeteers guide us—humorously and unexpectedly—into the magical universe of shadows. Here, the laws of physics seem to have been defied and all our expectations tossed aside. Here, the shadows sneak up from behind and steal our things! The shadows of everyday objects suddenly become independent and start their own dance of freedom. They stretch and shrink, separate and merge! Even the actresses’ shadows multiply and begin to talk. The shadows become what they’ve always dreamed of being. Bodies turn into shadows, shadows into bodies, and suddenly, being alone feels far less lonely.
An ode to imagination!
Schattenwerfer explores the relationship and dialogue between a shadow and its body, playfully questioning the role of the shadow. It draws our attention to that strange thing that follows us everywhere, sticks to our feet like chewing gum, and from which we cannot escape—no matter how fast we run.
