FOSCA (Dark)
Aurora Bauzá & Pere Jou

SYNOPSIS
FOSCA is a performance that explores darkness as a space for creativity and imagination. With three performers and singers on stage, and using an accessible, poetic, and contemporary language, the piece blends movement, live singing, music, and light technology to build a visual and sound-based narrative about darkness —and how to inhabit it with curiosity and trust. Far from associating it with fear, FOSCA offers a poetic reimagining of darkness, turning it into a place of fantasy, confidence, and play. The starting point is the idea that darkness can cease to be a feared space if accompanied by sensitive tools and sensory narratives that transform it into an aesthetic and emotional experience.
This is an interdisciplinary and innovative creation that seeks to expand the language of contemporary stage performance for young audiences, relying on an emotional dramaturgy built through singing, choreography, and light atmospheres. This interdisciplinary approach reflects the artistic line of Aurora Bauzà & Pere Jou, who investigate the relationship between body, voice, and light technology. With FOSCA, they adapt this research into a family format, maintaining artistic rigor and scenic originality, while enhancing its pedagogical and expressive scope to stimulate children's imagination, creativity, and poetic understanding.
