SYNOPSIS
A thread stretched in the hand
A thread around the hipsA thread that holds, a thread that coils...
A thread that binds, that structures, that leads...
A cube where threads unfold, hang, anchor—and toward which gazes converge.
The cube, a symbol of the world, connects the aerial and the subterranean space.
Empty, black, it shelters the fabric, the woven chrysalis, the body and the movement.A body in balance, in stillness, that falls, that floats, that sustains itself.
Here, dance and movement are closely tied to the artisan gesture: tying, weaving, tightening, spinning, passing a thread above, below, through. This gesture is not spectacular, but it is essential for the cocoon to take shape.
Here, the dancer is a weaver, a builder, a designer. She builds with, around, above, below. She searches, unrolls, undoes.
She embroiders, weaves with the empty space.
She plays with fullness and emptiness. She fills the cube in an organic and flexible way. She plays with contrasts.
She moves forward, slides, slips between, unfolds. She thinks with it.
