HET LAB is a residential artistic laboratory for young audiences based in Hasselt (Belgium). It is part of the KROKUS co-housing project, in which HET LAB takes on the role of artistic development, while the Krokus Festival is responsible for presentation.
HET LAB is an organisation of the Cultural Centre of Hasselt (CCHA) and is supported by the City of Hasselt and, through KROKUS, by structural operational resources from the Flemish Community.
Since 2018, HET LAB has addressed the lack of art centres and workspaces dedicated to creation for young audiences, based on the premise that artistic quality should be on the same level as that intended for adult audiences, while acknowledging the specificities in form, audience approach and content.
